Instructions:
  • You’ll need to decide how you want to collect your referrals. Are you going to have your customers fill out a webform? Do you want them to simply reply to your email? Knowing what response you want will help you determine how many “pieces” of copy you need.
  • There are a handful of places that require your personal details like company name and method you want them to use to respond to you. Be sure to make those changes to the copy based on your personal details.
  • If you’re requesting that your contacts fill out a webform, you’ll need a link to the form you want filled out. Be sure to include those links!

Referral Request Email 1

Subject Line: Would your friends or family appreciate this?
Send: Immediately

[CONTACT'S NAME],

Have we thanked you lately for being part of our community? If not...thank you! We’re excited to see the growth in our community.

Now, that being said, I have a question for you: Do you have friends or colleagues that could benefit from the [SERVICES OR PRODUCTS] we provide? If you’ve benefited from our offerings, then we would love to have you refer people to us.

If you refer your friends, family and/or colleagues, we will send them a single email inviting them to learn more about our [PRODUCTS OR SERVICES]. We’ll also share some of our great, free resources with them. If they’re not interested, we’ll never contact them again.

<Link: Sure, I can refer some people to you!>

Thank you for helping us reach out to others.

Pro Tip:

Please note where your link to your webform goes. We have provided some copy you can use to link out to the form. Be sure your email is properly linked. If you would rather have a person reply to your email rather than fill out a webform, you can make note of that in the same space as the link and remove the link content.

Pro Tip:

In the bracket that says PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, simply choose to use the words “products” or “services”. You don’t actually need to describe the products or services you offer.

We don’t want to bother your friend or colleague. If you’re willing to share their information with us, we’ll send them a simple email inviting them to [OFFER FOR THE REFEREE]. If they’re not interested, they won’t ever hear from us again.
