The Most Important Marketing Question To Ask Yourself

Often, when I ask a business owner who their prospect is, they say, “Well, everyone can use our services/products!”
And instantly I know that their marketing content is probably not as effective as they’d like it to be.
No accusations here. I have the same problem. Every small business in the world could use copy templates, right? They work for newbies trying to figure out their marketing and seasoned business owners who are tired of cranking out new content every week. And everyone in between.
But the pain points are NEVER the same.
The newbie needs some strategy help along with the copy. The seasoned business owner needs new, fresh ideas they haven’t thought of yet. Some business owners are trying to save time. Others are nervous to hit the “send” button.
I cannot talk to them all. And neither can you if your target market is too broad of a range.
Whenever you are writing content, think about your all-time favorite customer. And write to just that customer. Picture their face as you crank out your emails, promotions, and social posts. It makes writing your content easier, and your message will resonate better for those who are similar to your favorite customer.
“Know Your Prospect” is the #1 rule in marketing. So you’ve probably heard this message several times. But it never hurts to do a quick analysis and determine if your message is staying focused.
For the last 2 years, we’ve all survived. And honestly, you deserve a ton of credit for making it through.
But this year, there’s a shift. People are looking for experts who truly understand them and can help them get out of the crazy rut we’ve all been stuck in.
Your message needs to stick. It needs to speak to their entire being. And if it does, those sales will absolutely flow in.
